Sky Watch Friday

I can't resist any longer. I guess I'll have to join Sky Watch Friday. Since I hold a Private Pilot's license, I think clouds are important and useful, as well as beautiful.

I'll post more about my thoughts on this later.

Contrail Shadow on Clouds
(Click on photo & scroll down)
The contrail looks like a snake, but the shadow is straight.

For the photographers that are interested, the camera data is:
Nikon L14 (which I always carry in my pocket)
Auto setting which produced: 1/1000 ", f4.6, ISO64, zoomed to 6.3mm focal length

Welcome to Sky Watch Friday. I've been only doing this for less than two months. It's fun. Anyway, I really like how you captured that cloud streak (lack of a better term) in your photo. Good one.

Beautiful image, well done.

Nicely done, as usual. I'd need welding goggles to look at our sky of late.

Troy, I also love clouds. I wrote a short poem about them when I was young. Perhaps I will post it on my blog after I finsh writing about my 5 days of birding! Interesting how the shadow is straight and the contrail is squiggly.

Hello Troy,
When I promise to visit I will do that, so here I am, I like a camera that small so you can carry it, but I have besides that also 2 bigger kinds (nikon series 200-300) But the smallest is always in my pocket (Lumix carry-on cam) thank for you great sky.

I wish you a creative weekend and come to see my SKYWATCH Friday:)

Hi Troy, this is really nice photo of the sky, you have captured it very well. BTW thanks for visiting my blog recently. I just got into the conversation with another blogger friend about not using digital camera's below 10000. I know when I travelled we were always instructed to shot camera's down at take off and landing. Do you know why? Is it because it can interfere with telecommunication, or electronic devices. And how are you able to fly and take pictures. This is something would be nice to know, if not don't worry, and thanks again, Anna :)

Wow! This is a great pic! That trail is perfect leading into the sunlight. I wish I had a pilot's license, that would be great for getting photos (of course, not while you're flying though!!!)

Welcome to Sky Watch Friday. I'm bookmarking your blog.

Cheers,

David

I liked the way the trails aimed for the sun - gave the picture perspective.

This is beautiful. One of my favorite things to do is to take pictures of sunrises, sunsets, and interesting clouds.

Now that is the most gorgeous contrail I have seen. I generally dislike them immensely because they represent such awful pollution: but this photo is awesome.

Ahh, yes, nice contrail "X". Very cool, but I guess you would already know that I feel that way.
