Now that's what I call a rooster!
And a colourful picnic area.

Glad your fig tree is growing that fast and is already with fruit.
Don't forget trying to take them and eat quite from the tree ... it's an amazing sensation.

The Boss of your Backyard?
Yes I can imagine. I hope you have your bedroom in the front so you can sleep as long as you want, but with that Boss walking around, .....? Hope the egg production compensate the tyranny

Wish I had a Richard the Red. He is one stunning bird!

Your Roadside Rest Area looks like the heavens have opened up squarly on top of it's roof.

Great R day!

Any thought given to turning "Richard the Red" into Coq au vin? The inquiring mind of "Louis la Vache" wants to know....

WOW! Is every rest area in the Lone Star State decorated for Memorial Day? You Texans really know how to do things BIG! ;-)

I love the painted picnic table area! As a native Texas girl (though I've been in NJ for almost 10 years), I miss seeing things like this.

I will definitely be returning to read more of your blog!

Louis la Vache is kidding, I guess!
As french myself, I would take Richard as a Sport emblem. Ours is the the rooster, go and see our Rugby shirts. Richard would represent us with class! ; )
I also like the picnic area, which make a funny colored picture.
I answer to the invitation you made to Louis la Vache to visit your R. As I'm curious,.....

Hey, are all of Texas's rest stops like that? It's cool.

Some Washington Rest Areas are very nice and most of them now have wireless!! Though I've not pulled my laptop out to check my blogs while traveling through.

I think Red Richard is magnificent, Troy. You did well making him the boss of your backyard, although wake-up calls at 5 o'clock in the morning...
I think your landscapes are also impressive. I like the rich colours and magnificent settings. "Photoshopography" can sometimes be an excellent solution to do landscapes like these justice! Thanks for sharing all these photos and I will keep in touch with you.
