Bonus update:
I was out tonight looking at some of the craters along the terminator of the Moon
and grabbed this hand-held shot (poor quality) through the eyepiece.
Photo about 10PM Central time zone.
The large crater along the central portion of the terminator is Copernicus.
66.6% Illuminated
Note: The terminator is where the shadow begins
Updated photo
At the suggestion of Michael Palmer,
I went back and applied single frame, .jpg, HDR compensation
using Bibble Pro and Photomatrix HDR
Thanks Michael!

I'm not sure which I like better, the poem or the picture. I think maybe the poem.

Those red leaves in the middle of all that green are gorgeous to me -I'm so loving the changing of the season.
The moon - awesome! Well done!
Amazing, love the shots.
Hello Troy & Martha
What a superb posting this is.. MOON-tastic shot.. and a fantastic post.
Great shots both, but the moon capture is impressive.
Virginia creeper is getting red here. It's a survivor plant, that's for sure!
That was handheld?! Wow!
I love virginia creeper this time of year. The photograph of that and the poem are both fantastic and I also love the shot of the moon.
Troy, THAT'S A HANDHELD CAPTURE OF THE MOON?!!!! WOW! I am blown away! That is amazing.

Fantastic post. Not only do we get a beautiful view of Virginia Creeper, but we get a poem and the moon. BJ
How very nicely said! We had a grand growth of Virginia this year but it was taken by an early frost much to our disappointment. Happy Skywatch Friday. Thank you for your visit to mine.

Martha’s lovely ‘fall’ photo and Troy’s marvelous haiku complement one another beautifully, and the Bonus update is wonderful too! Thanks for sharing.
I’ve published on both blogs this morning – SkyWatch/Haiku Friday at Sacred Ruminations and another HF post (in which I ‘reflect’ upon my upcoming Blogoversary) at Small Reflections containing a ‘Fall Thank You’ for all … just because.
Hugs and blessings,
Great photos and a wonderful contribution to SkyWatch. Love the poetry also.
Troy, the virgina creeper is so pretty climbing red up that tree, but the moon shot is outstanding! Wow! And, your poetry is getting even better. This haiku is one of my favorites and the best you've done so far!
The kreeper certainly adds a nice splash of color.
I like all of the photo's, right now I am a bit emon=tional as you mif=ght understand....
Fantastic shot TROY and MARTHA, I love to see your blog..
THANK you SWEET FRIENDS< for your suportive words by the death of Stef (17 years) we need all the support we can get...
Wow - great post today!!!
(My hubby & I headed to the bookstore to grab some Alaska books. On 2nd thought it might take 2 years to plan this! But your posts have been very helpful too!)
There must have been something in the air that night, I was shooting the moon that night and so was another photog friend of mine. It was just gorgeous. Of course, I didn't shoot it even remotely as beautifully but I still liked the photo.
Happy Fall!
