Two years ago I did just that, I made everyone (okay not everyone but just about everyone) a calendar using pix I took while I was with them .. so each calendar was personalized sort of .. and then because I can often be overly controlling, I picked different fonts for each month so the font 'went with' the photo.

A lot of work, but worth it for all the thanks I got.

This year I was going to print a special photo for each and put it in a little frame ... a friend gave me over 100 small photo frames she had left over from something she did ... didnt get to it, but I am thinking if I start now I could have them done for next year ...

Every year I mean to make a personalised family calendar to share, and EVERY year so far the time has gotten away from me.
I should learn, and plan to do it in March this year! LOL

Yours is beautiful, and it's a great idea!

I would have never guessed that this animal is actually a sheep!
Great picture. :-)

What a great idea! My theme would be the waters around us. The reflections in the water, life in this water, windmills near the water.

Dear Troy, Dear Martha,
it has been a joy to visit your blog and see your wonderful wildlife/travel scenes.
I wish you a Happy Christmas and an adventure filled New Year.

I once thought of making one based on the previous year's corresponding months. But, you know how it is...

Nowadays the photo labs do it for you, so maybe?

I'm not happy unless my calendar has a picture of a tornado in it, and since I haven't nabbed one of my own, I am having to buy mine for now. Great idea and suggestion though. Really terrific!

Very cool idea! I might have enough time to actually do this project. ;-)

Very nice job. I've often thought of making my own calendar. My theme would be the travels of geogypsy. Instead I send a Christmas newsletter.

I like the idea of a skywatch calendar. If I get started now maybe I could get one done for 2010!

Nothing like a good calendar. You don't see them around as much as you once did. Must be another casualty of the digital age.

That's a fabulous composition, stunning given the fact that you captured the habitat with blue skies and the rocky terrain along with the sheep. Awesome.

You might want to checkout my lasted post on chance sighting with a wild Leopard which also has a similar habitat shot in the post...Thomas

That's a wonderful start of the new year. Great scene!
What a good idea. Our birthday calender is some years old, so we could use a new one. :-)
Happy X-mas!

What a great idea - could have an international skies calendar. Cool gifts too!

Wonderful idea! I just made a couple of 2009 calendars in my PSE6 class using family photos, but now that you mention it ... Sky Watch would be an excellent 'theme' with easily accessible photos from this year's posts. That said ... Photo Hunt and other photo memes could work too. I always love YOUR photographs and posts ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

I would love to make my own calendar.. Not sure what theme.. maybe just some of my favorite wildlife shots.. whitetail in Nov. Elk in September, kind of put the photo to the months that the animals are more prominantly photographed... I don't have a great printer like you. so would have to pay to have them done and I think they are WAY to expensive. BUT you post did give me and idea. maybe I could plan a yearly calendar out as a poster.. they aren't bad to have printed... will have to look into that one.. Here is wishing you a wonderful New Year..

I have done this. It is a great idea. Unique and personal calendars.

(My pix are not quite as good as yours though....)
