My World Tuesday, Part 6

My World Texas,
Based in Ft. Worth, Texas

Today in Texas
Dreaming of Warmer Weather
and one of Texas Beaches on the Gulf of Mexico

One of our favorite parts of Texas.
The Bolivar Beach on the Gulf of Mexico.
It's 300 miles from Ft. Worth as the Crow flies.
It's a lot further if you take the back roads like we do.
The photos were taken while we were on a trip to the coast,
during the Spring Migration looking for migrating Warblers, 3/22/08.

I am sure it will be sad to return to this area next Spring.
Huge amounts of the beach were lost to Hurricane Ike.
It was sad that so many people lost their homes to this devasting hurricane.

There were no shorebirds coming by,
so Martha was looking for shells and other treasures,
and I was photographing early wildflowers.

Everyone has different perceptions of color.

    The blue in the sky is amazing! The yellow? Hmmmmm.... It's a pretty bright yellow. I have a bunch of ink colors, and I would call it Yoyo Yellow to match the ink, but that probably doesn't help you.

    I love the shot of the beach and also of the beautiful primrose. I'm not sure how I'd describe the color other than soft yellow. I'm sorry about all the damage from Ike. We've gone through some major hurricane damage on the NC beaches in the past too, although not from that one.

    Turquoise Blue sky, silver ribbon of water and a golden beach, what more could you want! Love the primrose, lemon yellow that it is! Translucent yellow like the filling in a lemon meringue pie!

    Awesome beauty, in the traditional sense of "awesome.

    As for the yellow of the flower, I think it is its own color, which may be why we have a color known as "primrose" (which I always thought was pink).

    I'd call the beach evening primrose butter yellow. It's beautiful. Too bad Ike caused so much damage. It looks so lovely in your photos.

    Wow! It looks like summer to me! What a wonderful beach to spende some time and the flower is so beautiful too:)

    Here where I live it's winter now. The snow came for 4-5 days ago and just now it's -12C outside. What a big different to your place on this world:)

    I forgot to say that even if I said that it must be wonderful to spend some time at that beach. I think it's very sad to read about the hurricane and all the people who lost their home! The nature is very hard sometimes!

    WOW...beautiful post and a fabulous image to go along. I m talking about the early morning beach. Your pictures are truly amazing when viewed in its full size. You might want to consider changing your template slightly to accomodate larger size of pictures.

    I have dreams where I am walking the beach and looking for treasures, I would be combing the beach constantly if I lived near one. The beach along Playa del Carmen ruined me--it had the best treasures of any of the beaches I've yet explored (which are few) and that's where I go in my dreams. I love going to the beach through your blog. But it makes my heart ache a little.

    Oh my! That first shot is just awesome. I love it. A beautiful scene and great colours.

    The yellow - I don't know how I would describe it. A pale pastel yellow I think. Richer than lemon, not as rich as ochre.
