Sky Watch Friday
Sometimes you have to take what Nature gives you.
We only had a couple of hours in the late afternoon to visit here.
Not the best conditions to photograph a lake and mountains.
Such as shooting into the Sun with 70% cloud cover.
It was an interesting sky though.

The gusting wind was causing ripples on the lake,
therefore, there were no nice reflections.
It did cause one interesting phenomena:
Ghostly reflections of the mountains and sky.
Also notice all of the colors in the water.
How many different colors do you see in the water?

Who cares if the weather didn't cooperate? It was beautiful. Glacier National Park is one of my favorite places on the planet.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular photo. It just glistens.
ReplyDeleteYou have to be No. 1 on the SWF list this week. Beautiful photo. It was nice in the expanded view. Pappy
ReplyDeleteWonderful and impressive landscape! A Great SWF!

Troy: Very well done for SWF, the picture is superb with the great Sky.
ReplyDeleteWow this is amazing photo, the water looks so still, yet no reflection of clouds on it. Anna :)

Beautiful photo, I should be there and not at home.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time there was this great and fantastic group of people who blogged and photographed … with a click, click here, a snap, snap there, all of them had a week to look upon the sky … day and night, by dusk or dawn, sunrise or sunset … and always there where great and fantastic photos to be seen when SKY WATCH was opened …
ReplyDeleteI am one of those proud sky watchers and I really enjoy each and every one of the photos you show us. I really think you are a first class sky watcher!
Great Lake colors and shot.

Nice shot - like the way the clouds have come through
ReplyDeleteI think the reflection is lovely. I love the water's texture.
ReplyDeleteI found you on "Black holes and astrostuff" and thought I'd check out your blog. I'd love to subscribe to your blog but you don't have a "subscribe by email" thingie. Think you might be willing to add a Feedburner email subscription link to your blog so peeps like me who don't do feeds and don't remember to go around checking other people's blogs will get notified when you've posted something new?
ReplyDeleteTroy, Martha, Thank you for joining in again with Sky Watch... Please Enjoy :O)
ReplyDeleteAs I go from site to site this morning, I am constantly being reminded that the world is a beautiful place. The clouds turn this beautiful place into something magical and overwhelming. You have captured it so well. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot and post.
ReplyDeleteYou will be amazed at my SW.

ReplyDelete- Cheers from Canada.
Wow, you sure have some gorgeous photos on here. I am trying to get around to as many sky watchers as I can, but have to tell you I really liked some of the others...the one in sepia tones I guess it would be. It is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHmm.. I think it turned out fabulous considering your sky cover. I personally like to take pictures under these conditions because of all the nifty color tones that appear and the "ghost" shadows that appear when I load them up onto my computer that I had no idea were there before I took the photo!
ReplyDeleteVery nice picture!
That is an outstanding photo! If I had taken it it would be framed on my wall!! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great sky image, Troy!
ReplyDeleteLove the reflections on the water along with all the ripples, looks like foil
ReplyDeleteIncredible, impressive picture. I don't know whether to congratulate you on your luck or applaud the hard work you put into getting your shots. Both I think.
ReplyDeleteI love the ripples on the water. just stunning. all colors of nature are there.. thanks for sharing'
ReplyDeleteThe lake seems like pavement. I love those quiete and unique moments to enjoy
