Gosh, the letter T was definitely your limelight this time! W O W... spectacular photography. The thunderstorm was awesome. The tree after sunset was terrific!!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I like in particular the sun photos, and the morning fog. You always seem to capture the sun at the precise moment when it is actually invisible, which makes the best capture!

ReplyDeleteFrom my earliest childhood days I have been an avid "Western" fan so have read a lot about Texas in novels and in history books. It is therefore nice to see a variety of pictures of the "Lone Star State".

ReplyDeletePS I have never been to Texas, but was once asked by a couple of guys at an airport in LA if I came from Texas. They must have been very polite - my accent is very Norwenglish.

ReplyDeleteOh, WOW! You've got some fabulous shots here! "Louis" was happy to see the Palo Duro Canyon shot, as he grew up in Lubbock, went to (what was then called) West Texas State University at Canyon, and lived in Amarillo for a number of years.

Love the photos, love Texas. At one point during the seven-and-one-half years that we moved often for my Daddy's job we lived in over 20 towns in Texas. I can't remember all of them any more, but of the top of my head, here goes: San Antonio (twice), Borger, Fort Stockton, Pasadena, Beaumont, Wichita Falls, La Porte, Dickinson, Aransas Pass, Temple, Orange, Port Arthur, Rockport, Kilgore, Longview, San Angelo, Daingerfield, Waco ... that's all Mama and I can remember right now.

ReplyDelete"Louis" just noticed over at Portland (OR) DP that you had lived in Borger for 20 years! "Louis" had an aunt and uncle who lived there for a time, and when "Louis" was a District Merchandiser for Safeway out of the Amarillo District Office, he went to Borger when Safeway had that old dump of a store they had inherited from McCartt's there! "Louis" well remembers how the fumes from that Phillips Petroleum plant turned anything painted white yellow in that town. Even now, he remembers the stench from that plant. You probably didn't look back when you left Borger!

That's a really finse sequence of photos. I really need to see more of Texas. Big Bend and tthe West Texas shots were especially inspiring. And I like the Texas Crescent (no big surprise there).
