Where's Waldo

Sky Watch Friday

Wally's in a solid red shirt today.
Where's his red/white striped shirt?

A photograph of an old shipwreck near the mouth of the Columbia River in Oregon.

There is a beautiful sky and sunshine on the way!

Skeleton of a Once Majestic Ship
Typical cloudy skies but beautiful day
Click on the photo to look for Wally. ;o)

I certainly hope the adults got the youngsters all rounded up after the field trip was over. It looks like they were having a good time and probably didn't want to leave.

For other SWF posts,
see Tom's new SkyWatch site here.

Note: For all of the adults with no children,
Click here to learn more about Wally (or Waldo if you are in the US or parts of Canada).
No, this is not an official 'Wally' print. It just reminded me of that with all of the blue shirts looking alike and one lone red shirt standing off by himself.

  10. Scavenging along a beach is a terrific excursion. The clouds in your photo just seem to keep rolling in. The boys look like ants around a dead caterpillar.

  22. We had a "Where's Waldo?" day at school this last year. Everyone wore stripes and two facultymembers were designated as official Waldos. Those students who figured out who was Waldo got to be the participants in the games of the afternoon. It was a lot of fun.

  23. Last time I tried a 'Where's so and so' in a photo, the answer was, there wasn't any so and so! And I wracked my eyes looking. So, I'll just enjoy the boat and the beach.

  27. Wally is very popular in PNG but the kids here don't wear shirts very often so it would be hard to find him !!!!

  28. Troy, interesting as always, this one tells a story and you have made it more fun by envoking a children's book! That sand looks like I want to wiggle my toes in it! What a bunch of pirates scavenging on the beach!

  46. Don't know anything about Waldo (some cult character I presume!) but I do know a great beach-scape and this with those rolling clouds and the shipwreck does for me OK

  47. That is one amazing sky. I would enjoy a nice walk in the 'edge' of that water. Jaws you know! I hope you are surviving the heat. My friend in Dallas said it got up to 106 actual temperature. That brought back some unpleasant memories, especially the summer of 1980. Makes me wonder why I complain when it hits 90 here in middle of nowhere Illinois! I've only been gone 3 years. How soon we forget!

  48. Great photo. Brings to mind the movie, "Man in the Wilderness." Pappy

  51. Alas, the Black Pearl will not be returning to Tortuga... not in THIS state of disrepair! "Drink-up me hearties-- yo-ho!"

The blue sky near the horizon beautifully accents the fluffy expanse of cottonny goodness above. Nice shot!

  52. Great photo! Is this near Seaside Oregon? I might have been there once long ago.

  53. Certainly does look like a "wally" print!

  54. My sister's oldest boy LOVED the Where's Waldo books (he's going to be 29 in December) and we spent many happy hours seeking the fellow. Interesting cloudy day at the beach … lots of textures to this photograph! I participated at Sacred Ruminations ... sharing sunrise on a cloudy day.
    Hugs and blessings,

  55. I think I saw Wally. :) This is a great photo, love all the layers of light and color, and especially the way the blue is reflected in the water. The clouds look like waves in the sky.

  56. Oh, my, I am your 70th commenter! Hope I don't get completely lost in the suffle here. I actually thought of this shipwreck when I posted yesterday on the ancient chariot. I was also very intrigued by this ship just washing up on the Oregon shore like it did. I would have loved to have run my hands over the mellow old beams.

I enjoyed your comments over at Willow Manor today very much. Pop in for a cup of tea again very soon!
