Project Yellow III

Lyndon B. Johnson National Grasslands

We went up to LBJ Nat'l Grasslands today looking for wildflowers and birds.
The above Salsify is about the most yellow thing that we saw today. Enjoy.

    Very nice -- I'm a complete sucker for pictures of flowers! Invariably every time I take a trip to Europe, not only do I come back with your typical pictures of European sights, but with a slew of images of flowers.

    Good to hear that your back surgery has been successful! It's good to hear stories like that! It can't come soon enough for me -- this pain is nearly unbearable. Project Yellow has been keeping it off my mind a little at least!

    Wow! The first three things I see on your blog:
    windmill...I did a post on them last week
    yellow flower...my yellow project post today
    Yellowstone yellow bus...a post I did quite sometime ago included the yellow bus
    Not to mention, I LOVE TEXAS! Was born in Paris.

    I've heard that salsify can be fried (probably the roots) and tastes much like fried oysters.

    Yellow is the dominant flower color here in Arizona this time of year!. We just finished with yellow brittlebush everywhere, and now we are going into yellow Palo Verde trees!
